About Us

Story

Tea Crowns story began as a result of finding a passion and chance circumstances that Blanca and Viktor had over a span of five years in Taiwan.

After they met in 2015, Viktor did an internship at a company where his mentor on one occasion gave him a pack of tea. Until then they didn’t know much about Taiwanese tea neither had any interest in it. Still, the tea was so good that drinking tea became their daily routine. The passion for tea was born and ever since they have been diving deeper into the world of tea.

The first Couchsurfer they hosted in their home in 2016 was an awesome lady from Spain, Rosa. Impressed by the popularity of tea drinks in Taiwan, she thought that selling tea drinks would be a great business in Spain. Her simple thought was a spark that made Blanca and Viktor put together their passion for tea and entrepreneurship to start Tea Crowns.

Tea

We took an advantage of living in Taiwan by being fully immersed in its incredible tea culture. There, we had an opportunity to experience some of the world’s best teas and now we'd love to share them with you.

All our teas are from camellia sinensis plant and are traceable to the farm level. They are grown on the mountains of Taiwan, at high altitudes of 1000 – 2000 meters above sea level. The island’s unique climate, rainfall, sun and mild frost-free temperatures allow the plants to mature slowly and ensure the most flavor in each leaf.

The organic teas in our selection are hand-picked and grown using organic and sustainable methods and are traceable to the farm where their practices are documented for no pesticides, sustainability, natural fertilizers and compost.

We spent tremendous amount of time and energy in the filed discovering and delivering the pure loose-leaf teas that are distinctive in their quality, fragrance and character.

At Tea Crowns, we place great emphasis on quality of both teas that we select and relationships that we build, so we meet all of our farmers in person and form direct relationships with them.

On our trips to tea farms we can see how the farmers grow their crops, process the leaves, roast them and make the brew. It is fascinating how much attention and passion they put into making tea. They have spent years perfecting skills and methods that have been passed down through generations of their families, never compromising on commitment to fine quality tea and our goal is to bring out the best combination of man and nature in each leaf.
